What Is Blockchain Technology?
In simple terms, a blockchain is a database. But rather than information being stored in tables or on a spreadsheet, the information is grouped together in chunks or “blocks.” When a block is filled, it becomes linked or “chained” to the previous block, which is in turn linked to its previous block.
This series of connections makes it so that each block is connected to the entire string of previous chronological blocks of the blockchain—all the way back to its initial creation.
What makes blockchain so innovative is that since each block is connected, even a minuscule change to a single block will break the entire chain, making it invalid. This makes it infinitely more immune to market manipulation than traditional systems.
